Thimery Wimmer

Thimery Wimmer is Policy Director for NETAV, leading efforts to advance the coalition’s mission by collaborating with Nebraska and regional tribes to promote education, public awareness, and policy advocacy. Key responsibilities include providing training and technical assistance, developing public awareness campaigns, shaping public policy strategies, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring grant compliance. Previously she served as the Project Director for the Tribal TANF Child Welfare (TTCW) Grant for the Winnebago Tribe of NE and worked for the Winnebago Tribe for approximately five years in various roles. Additionally, Thimery was contracted with the Winnebago Tribe of NE to provide oversight and technical assistance on the Tribal TANF Child Welfare Grant and is also a mentored professor for studies on Critical Disabilities through her alma mater, Prescott College.

The holder of a master’s degree in Critical Psychology and Human Services, and a Certified Trauma Specialist, Thimery has found her passion in giving back to BIPOC communities through actionable change. Thimery was a panelist at the 2020 Administration for Children and Families Conference for Indigenous Programs, a speaker at several TTCW Tribal Grantee Sharing Events, and is a podcast host on the podcast “Making The Table: A Black Women Podcast” where she and her cohosts discuss issues of equity and inclusion. 

In her spare time, Thimery enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, making art, crafting, and taking care of her three cats and three dogs.
